•  Preparatory layer: Green oil paint is applied on the obverse and the reverse side. 

•  Painting layer: Oil paint applied with brush. Brushstrokes are thinly applied and show no impastos. The author used an excess of diluent which provoked cracks, especially in dark areas. This is due, to the fact that the preparatory layer was not dry enough when the work was being painted and which then caused unusual surface cracks.

•  Surface layer: It shows considerable dirty surface.

•  Frame: Thin strips of pine wood in good conservation, although one of them is curved.

Due to the present state of conservation of the work the procedure of restoration will be carried out as follows:

•  Analysis and condition report.
•  Dismantling of the frame.
•  Dry cleaning of the surface dirt.
•  Wet cleaning of the paint layer with a neutral, non-aggressive product.
•  Leave to settle.
•  Mechanical dry-levelling of the surface cracks with scalpel.
•  Filling and levelling the fill of the cracked areas.
•  Colour illusionist retouching.
•  Protective natural dammar varnish coating.
•  Cleaning and varnishing of the frame.
•  Fixing frame.
•  Preparing the restoration report.

It is advised to conserve the painting in a temperature between approximately 19ºC to 21ºC, and in a relative humidity between 60% to 65%. Also the painting should not be exposed to direct warm sources of heat (central heating,.) neither humid nor sunny areas. Moreover, any adhesive tape should ever be attached between the board and the stretcher.
